Again through the generosity of the Brothers of the National Shrine of Czetochowa, WARC had another successful Field Day.

Interesting Facts About The Shrine

  • Groundbreaking began August 23, 1964.
  • The Shrine was dedicated October 16,1966.
  • Designed by Architect/Engineer, Jerzy Szeptycki of Los Angeles.
  • Constructed of steel and concrete
  • 220 feet long, 70 feet high, and 130 feet wide
  • The steeple adjacent to the Shrine is 200 feet high.
  • Seating capacity of 1,600 on the main level and 400 in the choir loft.
  • St. Anne's Chapel which is located behind the Shrine and seats 300.
  • The Shrine was built by Matthew McCloskey of McCloskey & Co., Builders of Philadelphia.
  • The Shrine complex is situated on 170 acres.
  • 250,000 pilgrims and tourists visit each year.
