President’s Message – February 2016

Well, that was a lot of snow…I hope this month’s Feedback finds everyone safe and secure after the Blizzard of 2016, and that no one suffered any aerial casualties from the storm!

February is upon us, and since we are mostly housebound during these colder months, it’s good to know that amateur radio is there to help occupy our time. If you get the opportunity, there are several contests taking place, and of course you could check in to any one of the nets that are regularly scheduled, including WARC’s own Wednesday night net (8:00pm local, 147.090MHz, PL 131.8). They are always glad to have you aboard!

As mentioned in last month’s Message, this year is already slated to be an active one for our club. We’re making headway on the details for the kit building session, as well as the trip to ARRL HQ, and have secured our spot at the Shrine of our Lady of Czestochowa for Field Day. Of course, all of this takes the hard work and dedication of our club members, and we’re glad for their efforts. If you’d like to get more involved in the club, now is a great chance for you to jump in, as elections are coming up soon and we will need several vacancies filled. Please consider accepting a nomination to sit on our Board, or chair a committee, and help steer WARC toward a bright and active future!

This month, the General Meeting is on February 4, and it’s the Club Auction. Clean out the shack, and bring some spare change, there’s always a deal to be had! See you there…
