Doc's Annual
Thanksgiving Day Race
Newtown, Pa

Mark (N3GNW), and his daughter Domenica, man the APRS base which tracked the lead and rear of the race via a ham radio interfaced GPS system.

Ron ( NY3J), bringing up the rear of the race. The pack on his back contains a GPS receiver that is interfaced with a TNC. The information of his location is then transmitted to Mark (see above) via 2 meters, who can view his position on the computer via a map.

At the command center of the race, the club set up a 17" monitor for the public to view the progress of the race. Here, Rocky (N3FKR), explains the setup to a couple of onlookers.

As always, George (N3HBT), did a great job as Net Control.

All photos were taken by Bill (K3MFI), with an Olympus D-340L digital camera
